II Valery Khalilov International Conducting Competition
«The conductor should exemplify a high level of culture, behaviour,
knowledge, and skills — these are some of the important excellencies
which are required to earn the credibility of the musicians.
And as Suvorov said, where success is, there is victory!»

Valery Khalilov
2018 Valery Khalilov International Conducting Competition held by the Tuva State Philharmonic became an important event in the musical life of Russia and the CIS countries. The decision to move it to Moscow and transfer the powers for the Competition to the Valery Khalilov Charity Foundation to hold it at the best concert venues with highly professional orchestras and reputed international jury is meant to expand geography and enlarge the target audience of the Competition, to raise the Competition's credibility and enhance its status.

The Competition is aimed at supporting and developing the contemporary school of conducting art via public identification of talented young wind music conductors in order to help their further career guidance, inspire their creativity and new repertoire studying, developing international professional contacts in conducting and orchestral art.
